Cascades Carnivore Project is excited to announce the launch of Give for the Gorge. The Columbia River Gorge now has a new way for visitors, locals and online customers to give back to our region and its communities at local businesses.

The Columbia River Gorge has evolved into a world-class travel destination, attracting more than 2.5 million visitors in 2023. As its popularity has grown, so has the need for environmental stewardship, affordable housing, and social services for the local workforce.

A group of eight nonprofits working throughout the Columbia River Gorge along the Oregon/Washington border came together to brainstorm ways to build sustainable revenue.

Give for the Gorge gives people an easy way to make a positive difference in a place they love.

For the first time in nearly a century, wolverines are back at Mount Rainier National Park. How did they get there? Listen to the story as CCP founder, Dr. Jocelyn Akins heads into the field with The Wild with Chris Morgan to find out.

Our Canada Lynx DNA Study!

Among those species most at-risk to climate change in Washington’s North Cascades is the Canada lynx. This rare carnivore is snow-adapted and thus particularly sensitive to climate warming. CCP in collaboration with North Cascades National Park and our partners have collecting over 500 confirmed lynx scats samples and produced new genetic data. We are currently analyzing this DNA data to determine how many lynx remain in Washington, help to understand the conservation status of current lynx populations, and identify areas of greatest need for management actions.
